we've discussed using "fracture" as anthology's theme. we've also talked about visually including some arbitrary items across the board, like hidden easter eggs. here is a post for suggestions!
this is an x-ray of a leg fracture. it could fit easily into a background, e.g. non sequitur in place of a poster on the wall of a room or on the street.
attractively broken or fractured objects could be incorporated as scenery:
i thought about what kind of animal might symbolize fracture. maybe a
two-headed frog or snake -- change (the frog) or rebirth (the snake) with two possible outcomes + disturbing.
but an easter egg doesn't have to be meaningful! perhaps an ordinary object, like this lovely typewriter:
or consider this humorous stag:
a common graffiti phrase or image could be another easy thing to throw in the background:
w/r/t pop culture references, we might sneak in a children's book character...
...or this hilarious sign from the widely popular viral video, "Going To The Store":
a different thought entirely: panels modeled, in the style of our own universes, after famous or beloved paintings or illustrations:
if either of you are as fond of Parra's weird bird people as i am, well, i wouldn't mind seeing one of them showing up in the background either:
finally, there's real life: risd campus references, isb references, faculty likenesses (Paul!), or likenesses of our friends / each other could appear in our comics. (i know for a fact that pally is incorporating the fourth floor water fountain into his advanced project)
